Admitted Student Next Steps
Congratulations on being admitted to UCCS! You’re on a path to success, and we’re happy to be part of your bright future. There are just a few things left to do before beginning your studies here at UCCS.
Register for Orientation
Spring Registration Opens: October 1
Fall and Summer Registration Opens: March 1
New students are required to attend orientation before their first semester. Orientation is a one-hour appointment offered either online or in-person. During orientation, you will begin enrolling in classes. The earlier date you attend, the better selection of classes you will have.
Contact: Orientation Office at orientation@uccs.edu or (719) 255-3098
Claim Your Account
After you get accepted, allow 2 business days for IT to create your account before claiming it. You will need to claim your account to access your myUCCS portal and apply for scholarships, check your holds and to-do list items, and register for classes.
Follow the instructions on Claiming Your UCCS Account.
Contact: IT Service Desk at (719) 255-4357
Apply for FAFSA
FAFSA Application Opens: December 1

Authorize the College Opportunity Fund for Colorado Residents
The College Opportunity Fund (COF) pays a portion of total in-state tuition for eligible Colorado residents.
- When you enroll in your classes at orientation, you will authorize your COF stipend to be paid to UCCS.
- You have the option of authorizing COF each semester when you enroll in classes, or you may choose the Lifetime Authorization (you only authorize once, that authorization stays in effect until you change it).
- If you do not apply for and authorize COF, you will pay full tuition.
Contact: Bursar Office at (719) 255-3391
Apply for Housing
Housing Application Opens: December 1
Priority Submission Date: March 15
To increase your chances of getting your preferred room type, submit your housing application before the priority submission date. You will need your UCCS username and password to submit the application (see Claim Your Account step if you do not have yours).
Applying to housing does not commit you to attending UCCS. A $600 deposit is required but $500 is refundable if cancelled by May 31st (fall applicants) or December 1st (spring applicants).
Wondering if you’re required to live on-campus? See housing exemption details at Application: Housing Exemption.

Submit Immunizations
After you register for orientation, please upload a copy of your Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) immunization records to the UCCS Wellness Center portal.
If you will be living in on-campus housing, you must upload a certified record showing proof of a Meningococcal ACWY vaccination to the UCCS Wellness Center portal. If you opt not to receive the vaccine, you must sign a waiver form.
Submit Final Documents
If you are still taking classes in high school, send in your final transcript showing you have graduated. If you are currently taking, or have taken, classes at a different college, send in a final transcript showing all of the classes you have completed. If you took an AP and/or IB test, you will need to ensure that the scores for those tests are sent.
Official transcripts can be emailed to ugapp@uccs.edu, sent through SENDedu, or mailed to:
